ABA Social Skills Group

About ABA Social Skills Group

Our ABA Social Skills Group Program is designed by Board Certified Behaviour Analyst® (BCBA®) to help children build foundational social, emotional, and communication skills within a supportive and structured environment. Tailored for children who benefit from extra guidance in social interactions, this program combines ABA (Applied Behaviour Analysis) methods with fun, engaging activities to encourage positive behaviour and meaningful connections with peers. Our goal is to equip children with practical tools they can carry forward into everyday social situations.

Our Approach

We believe in a structured yet engaging approach to social skills development. By blending evidence-based ABA techniques with group interactions, our program helps children practice key social skills with consistent support and positive reinforcement. Led by BCBAs and supervised ABA therapists, each session is designed to encourage confidence, self-regulation, and communication in a safe, welcoming atmosphere where children feel motivated to learn and grow.

How It Works

Initial Assessment and Goal Setting

Before starting the program, each child completes an assessment with our BCBA and supervised ABA therapists to understand their current skill level, social needs, and goals. This helps tailor the program to the unique strengths and areas of growth for each participant.

Small Group Sessions with Targeted Social Skills

Children join small, age-matched groups where they practice social skills such as greeting others, sharing, turn-taking, and understanding emotions. Each session focuses on a specific skill area, allowing children to develop confidence and familiarity with key social interactions.

Real-Time Feedback and Positive Reinforcement

Supervised ABA therapists provide immediate feedback and use positive reinforcement techniques throughout the session. By using prompts, modeling, and roleplay, children gain a hands-on understanding of social skills that they can apply outside of the program.

Parental Involvement and Home Practice

After each session, supervised ABA therapists update parents on their child’s progress and provide strategies for practicing skills in real-life settings, creating a cohesive support system between the clinic and home.

Program Structure

The ABA Social Skills Group Program is organized into a 12-week cycle with weekly 2-hour sessions, ensuring a consistent and gradual learning process.

Weeks 1-3: Introduction to Basic Social Skills

Focus on greetings, introductions, and initial engagement skills.

Weeks 4-6: Emotional Awareness and Regulation

Children learn to recognize, express, and manage emotions through guided activities.

Weeks 7-9: Building Peer Interaction Skills

Skills like sharing, turn-taking, and cooperative play are practiced to strengthen positive peer interactions.

Weeks 10-12: Reinforcement and Generalization of Skills

Children review and apply their learned skills in various settings, preparing them for social success beyond the program.
