About Regulate and Thrive

Parenting a child with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) can be both rewarding and overwhelming. Many parents struggle to manage emotional stress, stay calm, and navigate daily challenges with their children. For parents who often feel drained or unsure of how to help their child thrive, our Regulate and Thrive Program can offer the support and tools they need. This program is a parental support group for parents of children with ASD.

This 10-week group program integrates the scientifically-backed Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) with expert parenting coaching, giving you a unique combination of nervous system regulation and practical parenting skills.

How Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) Helps You

The SPP is a powerful tool designed to calm one’s nervous system, reduce stress, and improve their ability to connect and communicate. Each session begins with 30 minutes of SSP listening time, which helps parents feel more centred and capable of handling the emotional challenges of parenting. By regulating one’s own nervous system, parents will be more prepared to respond to their child’s needs with patience and understanding.

Our Approach

Following the SSP, parents will spend 1 hour in parenting coaching where they will learn specific strategies to manage behaviours, improve communication, and support their child’s growth. These coaching sessions will provide them with real-world tools to handle common challenges, reduce conflict, and create a more peaceful family environment. They will also gain insights into their child’s sensory needs and how their emotional state directly impacts their well-being.

How It Works

Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP)

Each session begins with 30 minutes of listening time to help regulate one’s nervous system, reduce stress, and enhance their ability to connect and respond to their child.

Parenting Coaching

Following the SSP, parents will receive 1 hour of expert guidance on managing the unique challenges of parenting a child with ASD. The parenting coaching will cover emotional regulation, communication strategies, and parenting techniques that promote positive family dynamics.

Community Support

The last part of the program focuses on building connections in a safe and compassionate environment. Parents will share experiences with others who understand the challenges of raising a child with ASD.
