Dr. Kathleen Lung is a clinical psychologist who has had 27 years of experiences working with adults, adolescents, and children for both treatment and assessment. In psychotherapy, Dr. Lung invites her clients to engage in an exploratory journey from start to finish, being a supportive guide and a collaborator, uncovering their true potentials, and restoring their faith in their innate ability to overcome hardships and problems. Throughout this journey, she strives to create values for her clients, be it taking on new perspectives, deconstructing existing values and constructing new ones, or activating new behaviour. Her therapeutic approach is a fluid integration of the essence of cognitive-behavioural therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, and psychodynamic interpretations. In addition, she selectively deploys the techniques of EMDR and hypnosis. Dr. Lung is keenly interested in the intersections between psychology, nutrition, and lifestyle habits, applying as pertinent as they are in her psychotherapeutic practice.

Her doctoral thesis won an American Psychological Association (APA) 1995 Outstanding Dissertation Award. She interned at the Clarke Institute of Psychiatry (now known as CAMH). Her work experiences include a one-year stint at the Jewish Vocational Services serving students of the Simcoe County District School Board and York Region District School Board. Subsequently, she worked for more than a decade at the Toronto District School Board. Prior to her work in the school districts, Dr. Lung owned and ran a clinical private practice providing treatment for a range of psychological disorders.

In her leisure, Dr. Lung enjoys finishing up her biography (for self-reflection only), having conversations with friends, taking walks, doing yoga, exercising, and listening to music.
