Are you going through a tough time? Do you often feel weighed down by feelings of sadness, anxiety, anger, or loneliness? Are you struggling with difficult relationships, life changes, or self identities? Do you want to have a change but do not know where to start? If you find it difficult to talk to your friends or family, you may come talk to our therapist, Sandra. Together, she will work on strategies that allow you to address your difficulties.

Since Sandra was young, she knew she wanted to work with people. She feels pain for people’s sufferings; and she is amazed by people’s resilience and strengths. Sandra has had the privilege of walking alongside her clients when they were going through difficult times in their life journey. Her role as a psychotherapist is to empower her clients in making sense of their experiences, exploring their life values, finding their solutions, building healthy relationships, and making peace with themselves.

Sandra practices with the strength-based and anti-oppression frameworks. She knows that no single approach is the right one for every individual, and so she has been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, Solution Focused Counselling, and Systemic Family Therapy.

With over 20 years of clinical practice, she worked with children, youths, adults, and elderlies. Sandra provided psychotherapy to individuals, couples and families at a counselling centre, a mental health unit at a teaching hospital, schools, and in private practice.

Sandra’s education background includes BA in psychology and Master of Social Work from the University of British Columbia, and Bachelor of Social Work from Hong Kong Polytechnic University. And she has obtained a Certificate in Solution Focused Counselling from the University of Toronto.

She is aware of her social locations that has shaped her as a person and as a therapist. They facilitate, and at the same time limit, Sandra’s understanding of people and the world. She is committed to opening myself to understanding my clients’ lived experiences, and empowering them to find their solutions, to pursue their goals, and to live out their life values.

If you feel stuck, you are not alone. Let’s work together to find healing and change.
